Standing atop the largest exposed granite monolith in the southern hemisphere as the sun breaks the horizon (or sinks below it) is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Girraween National Park (just over the QLD border)
For an extended trip, Girraween’s granite domes and massive boulders catch the light in extraordinary ways. The Pyramid and Castle Rock hikes are rewarding for sunrise or sunset — just be prepared for a bit of a trek!
