Bird Watching In and Around Tenterfield

Tenterfield and the surrounding areas provide a beautiful haven for birdlife. More than 230 species have been recorded in the region. The shire of Tenterfield straddles the Great Dividing Range and encompasses many different habitats.

This brochure has been produced in cooperation with Granite Borders Landcare, Northern Tablelands Local Land Services and National Landcare program to provide an extensive guide to birds in the shire and there locations.

From subtropical forests to high elevation national parks and drier western valleys, the Tenterfield shire has a vast landscape providing habitat to native bird species.
