Horse Riding
New England’s high country is a premier destination for riders of all ages. With fire trails in a number of the region’s national parks, riders will be rewarded with gorgeous scenery at every turn and a level of challenge to delight every ability. Find the 5.5km Falls Circuit and Wellington Creek circuit in Basket Swamp National Park (14km northeast of Tenterfield) or the 15km History Loop and Billyrimba Trails in Washpool National Park.
Girard State Forest hosts an extensive trail network, including sections of the Bicentennial National Trail. The ride base camp for Tenterfield’s Endurance Riding Club is situated in the Forest, with hot showers, a powered kitchen, and night-time lighting. You’ll find direct access from the camp to forest trails for riding and hiking.
Tenterfield’s Endurance Riding Club also hosts social rides throughout the year.
