The Old Manse 1898

Nestled in the beautiful, historic Northern Tablelands town of Tenterfield, The Old Manse 1889 sits beside the former Tenterfield Methodist church, offering boutique heritage accommodation to couples looking to experience the grandeur of another age.

The foundation stone for a new parsonage for the Tenterfield Methodist Church was laid by Mrs J H. Reid, Mayoress of the town, in 1898. It was opened by the Reverend J Woolnough in 1899, and offered generous accommodation for the church ministers in the years following. It is included in the National Trust Register, and has been described as demonstrating historical, social and aesthetic significance as a notable building in Tenterfield.

For us, as her custodians, we think of this grand building more as our home away from home, and wonder at her beauty every time we walk through her beautiful old doors. We have decorated her with love, with objects and furnishings from all over the world, to make this not just a night away, but the most memorable of stays.

There are two grand rooms with queen beds for two couples or two singles. Please specify when booking whether you require one bedroom or two, as the second bedroom is generally locked off.
