Boonoo Boonoo National Park
Boonoo Boonoo (pronounced bunna-boonoo) National Park, just 27km from Tenterfield, offers a refreshing contrast to its neighbouring parks. With its flowing rivers, serene waterholes, lush gorges, and the thunderous Boonoo Boonoo Falls, it’s a place to slow down, cool off, and immerse yourself in nature.
The park is a haven for spring wildflowers, platypus spotting, and exploring goldfield remnants at Morgan’s Gully. Whether you’re camping riverside, picnicking by the falls, or walking in Banjo Patterson’s footsteps — this is a park with soul.

- Getting there: 27km north of Tenterfield via Mt Lindesay Road (sealed to picnic area; unsealed to other sites)
- Park entry fee: $8 per vehicle (pay on arrival)
- Facilities: BBQs, picnic tables, toilets, fire pits, water tanks, campground, cabin accommodation
- Access: 2WD accessible via unsealed road from Mt Lindesay Road
Camping
Bush camping is available at Cypress Pine Campground, nestled beside the Boonoo Boonoo River. Sites must be pre-booked and are suitable for tents, caravans, and motorhomes. For a more comfortable stay, Robinsons Cabin offers self-contained accommodation for up to six guests within the park. Enjoy BBQ facilities year-round. Campfires are allowed when fire conditions permit.

A short, rewarding walk from the picnic area to a breathtaking lookout over the gorge and falls. Keep an eye out for wildflowers and the endangered brush-tailed rock wallaby.
Boonoo Boonoo River Walk
Approx. 6.1km one way · 3–4 hours · Moderate
From Cypress Pine Campground to the picnic area, this longer trail hugs the Boonoo Boonoo River, with wildflowers, swimming spots and wildlife along the way.
